Food and Farming Awards

BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme is calling on people in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to nominate their favourite producers, workplace cooks, local markets and food heroes. The panel is looking for winners in a range of categories including a new BBC Future Food award to find the best new idea in the UK food supply chain and, for the first time, The One Show will be leading the search for the Best Takeaway/Street food in the country. From street food pop-ups to high street institutions, celebrate the people taking takeaway and street food to a whole new level. From bread to butter, cheese to chocolate - these are the people and businesses using quality ingredients, lots of skill and dedication to create an excellent, fairly priced, finished product. Innovative ideas that could influence how the UK's food and drink will be grown, distributed and sold in future. We're looking for pioneering initiatives across the supply chain. Brewers, distillers, wine-makers, juice producers - the people using carefully sourced ingredients and skill to produce an outstanding drink. A farmer or farming family who have made a difference through their heroic actions, going above and beyond in times of need. Local shops that enrich lives, high streets and communities by selling delicious, great quality, affordable food. Someone who is preparing tasty, healthy meals on a budget in a hospital, school, care-home or other workplace and deserves to be celebrated. Named after The Food Programme's first presenter, this award is for the individual or organisation whose life’s work has brought about real change in our relationship with food.
