Petitioning The UK film distribution industryTransition NetworkTransition NetworkSupporters'Demain' has been a phenomenon in France. Seen now by over 1 million people, often greeted by standing ovations, winner of 'Best Documentary' at the Cesar Awards (the French Oscars), it is a remarkable and inspirational exploration of what a sustainable future could look like. Produced by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent, it highlights solutions around the world.
It visits Totnes to explore the Transition movement, goes to Todmorden to find out about the Incredible Edible movement, spends time with the Bristol Pound, visits a wonderful permaculture project in France, as well as celebrating community energy, urban agriculture in Detroit, and much more. It's amazing. But while distribution has been arranged in 30 countries, and the film is currently taking Germany, Spain and other places by storm, the producers can't find a distributor for the UK or the US. This is ridiculous, given the huge boost it would give the wide range of movements featured, and how successful it has been elsewhere. Our hope is that this petition will demonstrate to potential distributors that people want it. So, bring 'Tomorrow' to the UK!
