About usFood for Life (FFL) is exciting programme that bring schools, nurseries, hospitals and care homes, and their surrounding communities together around the core ethos of healthy, tasty and sustainable food. The programme is commissioned by Local Authorities to address health and wellbeing priorities in their areas. FFL is part of the Soil Association where we share our head office based in Bristol.
About the roleFood for Life (FFL) has been awarded a grant by Public Health Warwickshire to work with Nurseries and Children’s Centres to engage in the FFL Early Years Awards programme and support healthy eating messages and activities to parents. The programme involves encouraging settings to apply FFL standards to meals and teach cooking and growing activities.
Your roleWe are now looking for a locally based Programme Officer to provide direct support to Early Years sites across areas of Warwickshire to engage with the FFL Smart Start programme, including delivery and engagement with Nurseries and Children’s Centre staff and parents. In this role you will encourage participating settings to get involved with events, activities and training. You will also liaise with the project managers and help collect evaluation data and information.
About you To be successful in this role you will have experience in engaging and working with Early Years settings, both senior management and delivery staff, as well as pupils and parents. Experience of delivering/coordinating projects with food and/or health is essential. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and be experienced in presenting to groups, as well as keen to communicate through a variety of social media.
The role is home based, with considerable travel to Early Years sites across Warwickshire, so own transport is important. Occasional travel to offices in Bristol and meetings in Warwickshire are also required.
